</noinclude>In the early 25th century humanity stood on atop greatness. After massive campaigns of discovery and conquest the GTU had became a superpower in its own right, however there was still something that deeply troubled the GTU, namely: The Tyrum. Humanitys ancient enemy was still alive and thriving. This had to change.
A top secret meeting was held in London, the capital of the GTU. The massive meeting was held to discuss the future of the Tyrum and how humanity should deal with it. It was unanimosly decided, that the time had come and the Project humanity had been working on, was to be released. Thousands of warships and millions of soldiers were gathered in preparation of the biggest invasion in human history. But it had to be delayed due to a Compact surprise attack.
After a massive conflict, in wich the GTU went out victorius much had changed on the other side of the galaxy.
After hundreds of years as a galactic powerhouse, the Tyrum was finally decaying. With its former puppets and tributaries banding together against the Tyrum, in a federation named: the Star Concord, wich surpassed the power of the GTU. This new federation was pushing through all Tyrum defences, annihalating their populations. However when it came to Tyrum homeworld: Byrum, the Star Concord stood down and decided to reasses the meaning of their mission. Several conferences were arranged, were all species within the concord discussed wheter or not it was right to annihalite an entire species. And after everything had been discussed. They agreed that the annihalition of an entire race was unacceptabel. And adopted a new stance against the Tyrum: Namely to confine them within their current borders. This outraged the GTU, wich would lead directly to: Operation Retaliation.
Operation Retaliation
After the unexpected result of the Concord Conferences, the GTU decided that it needed to act on its own, it immiedalty recalled all command staff to lay out a plan to bypass the Concords restricitons. This was to be achieved by using the Gateways to immiedalty enter Tyrum space, and use Modern Blitzkrieg to make their way to Byrum. It had to happen in secret, so a level 1 clearance was placed on until they had reached Byrum. On the 16:th of March 2447 Operation Retaliation was commenced.
The Cataclysm
After using the Gateways and bypassing several stations and fleets, humanity had finally made it to Byrum, finally they were at the same position as the Tyrum had been just under 400 years ago. At this point, the knowledge of Operation Retaliation had been made public as it was already to late for anyone to respond. And now the Project was revealed, it was a massive super weapon, a weapon that dwarfed any common artillery piece. It was named: The Sword of Terra and on May 1st 2447, the weapon activated. As the weapon fired, the atmossphere of Byrum was burnt away and in seconds billions were dead, and hundreds of billions had seen the destruciton live all across the galaxy. The power of the GTU could no longer be challenged.
Post-Op.Retalation
Across Terran space, the Operation was considered a massive succes, and the millions that had died, had finally been avenged.
