In 202 AL, the Antares National Flag Commission was established and tasked with coming up with a flag design to represent the newly formed Antares Confederacy. Its members created an open, public competition.

Of the 4,093 entries submitted, three variants, the "White Cluster", "Green Frontier" and "Golden Cluster" flags, designed by the historian Jean-Noël Vigouroux would be brought to the council on August 11th, 202 AL. The "Green Frontier" flag, the winning design, was inaugurated precisely one year later, raised simultaneously outside the capital building in Sagallo and other government buildings throughout the system.[1]

Symbolism[]

The flag's central star is the Star of Progress. The longest point represents the journey from Earth to the Antares system. The three other points represent The Landing, Reunion Day and Confederation Day.[1]

The star of progess is surrounded by eight Stars of Remembrance which represent the eight colonies which were lost prior to reunification.[1]

These stars are surrounded by eleven Stars of Antares which represent the eleven founding nations of the Antares Confederacy. The four points of the Star of Antares represent Determination, Amity, Labor and Justice.[1]
